British Airways Decides Afternoon Tea Doesn’t Require Tea
When is tea not tea? It’s a question that has been levelled at British Airways recently when they introduced ‘Afternoon Tea’ on their short haul flights…only thing is that there is no actual tea on the menu. The in-flight magazine even states that the selection is: “An indulgent sultana scone served with traditional clotted cream and delicious strawberry preserve – pair it with a hot cup of Tea Pigs Everyday Brew for an authentic cream tea experience.”
Passengers have been left a little confused as the tea mentioned is an extra £2.50 on top of the scone and cream. British Airways was quick to defend itself stating: “Whether it’s a traditional cup of tea, our new espresso martini or a bottle of champagne, we offer a wide range of beverages to allow customers to choose which option they pair our popular afternoon tea with.”
