Coca Cola move towards 100% recycled plastic bottles
In a move seen as good both for business and the environment the drinks giant Coca Cola have signed a new agreement that will see all of its European bottles being made from 100 percent recycled PET within two years.
The American drinks company has joined forces with Loop Industries which has provided Coca Cola with the ability to turn plastics that had previously been dumped in land fill sites into new fresh PET plastic material which can be, once again, used for drinks bottles. The new technique is very scientific but essentially it strips the plastic back to its raw components and creates virgin new materials.
This new approach will save millions of plastic bottles from ending up in land fill sites and will also produce economic savings as well as protecting the environment.
