COFFEE IN THE MOVIES
???Here at UK Vending we like to think of ourselves as culture buffs…okay that may be overstating the fact that we love movies but we rarely switch off when we see coffee on the big screen. We have wracked our brains and thought of some of the best movie scenes that involved having a nice cup of Joe. Let us know if you agree with our list or if you think we’ve missed some of the best ones.Al Pacino in 1995’s classic Heat pitches it perfectly when he asks Robert De Niro’s character: “What do you say I buy you a cup of coffee?”
Then there is a much subtler way to introduce coffee with the absurdly wonderful Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s looking into a store front eating a bread roll and sipping a hot coffee from a paper cup, whilst dressed to the nines.
Samuel L Jackson features a lot of coffee in his movies, in Goodfella’s from 1990 he brews a pot of coffee and in Pulp Fiction he gets to share his coffee with John Travolta whilst thinking how to dispose of a dead body.
There is the absurd but quite brilliant Zoolander.
Then, of course, there is Amelie from 2001. Audrey Tautou actually works in a coffee shop no less.
But all of us at UK Vending think LA Story with Steve Martin nails it on the head.
Finally the Airplance 2 ‘Out of Coffee’ scene
