Coffee: We owe it all to goats!
Here at UKVending, as you might expect, we love the rich satisfying taste of coffee, but how did we all around the world become hooked on the delicious drink? Well, surprisingly we owe it all to a group of Ethiopian goats in the 16th Century.
Way back then a goat herder noticed that his flock of goats were acting a little strange. On further investigation he noticed that when they ate coffee cherries they suddenly had more energy and were unable to sleep at night.
He discussed the matter with local monks who ground the beans into a paste that was added to boiling water and the rest, as they say, is the start of the history of the phenomenon that is coffee today.
