Teabags have many uses other than for making a cup of tea, some of them are even medical in nature. For example: A stye is a painful lump on the eyelid that often develops into something much worse. Usually this consists of pus that needs to be drawn out and that’s where the teabag comes in.

The idea is simple a warm teabag placed over the stye draws out the pus in a safe way in a similar fashion to a compress. Furthermore, the tannin in the tea is also thought to reduce the size of the stye.
If you’d like to try this at home, steep a regular tea bag in just boiled water and remove. Leave until cool enough to handle, and place over the affected area until the heat has gone. Repeat as needed.
