Fruity tea to cure a hangover?
If you’ve overdone it and are feeling the results the next day, then the latest research could bring some relief to your pounding head.
A mug of fruit tea may help to prevent a punishing hangover, a study has found.
But, before you reach for the variety squirrelled away at the back of your cupboards for a rainy day, it is a particular type that works. The recommended beverage contains ginkgo biloba, barbary figs, ginger root extract and white willow.
German researchers recruited 214 participants and gave some the fruit tea straight after drinking alcohol. They reported nausea which was 42 per cent weaker and a headache which was a third less intense than other participants the next morning, according to the study published in the BMJ Nutrition, Prevention and Health Journal.
