Give chocolate this Valentines

Valentine’s Day is the day when lovers shower gifts and love on their partners and here at UKVending we all feel quite romantic too, so we looked into what chocolate treats we could give to our other halves. Then we discovered that chocolate is considered an aphrodisiac and we got very interested indeed, but is it really?

Back in Aztec times the ruler Montezuma was noted for keeping a large harem and is said to have downed up to 50 goblets of chocolate a day to keep up with the demands of his ladies believing it gave him ‘special powers of seduction’. Modern day studies have proven that chocolate does indeed contain a wealth of chemicals that improve happiness, stamina and love including phenylethylamine and serotonin. Montezuma might have enjoyed the 50 goblets of chocolate, but science has proved that the women of his harem would have enjoyed it more as females are more susceptible to the chemicals in chocolate and are more likely to become hooked on it.
