How chocolate could save your life!

We all love a bit of chocolate now and again, don’t we? Well now you can justify your treat in the best possible way as researchers have determined a little of the sweet stuff could actually help save your life. No for real!

Eating chocolate at least once a week could help prevent a heart attack, say scientists.

This may be down to the fact that chocolate is packed with plant chemicals which dampen inflammation and help to boost blood flow, a study has concluded.

Research, comprising of six previous trials, included 336,289 people who recorded their chocolate intake. Participants were tracked for an average of nearly nine years – during which time 14,043 developed coronary artery disease and 4,667 suffered a heart attack. Overall, those who ate chocolate more than once a week cut their risk of coronary artery disease by eight per cent.
