Lab grown coffee is greener
Have you ever wished that drinking your daily coffee didn’t cost the earth, both in financial and environmental terms?
Well, now your wish is one step closer to reality after scientist have produced the first ever lab-grown coffee – which could stop deforestation needed to grow conventional beans. Using the leaves from a plant, researchers in Finland formed cells that are multiplied, placed in a bioreactor and then harvested before being dried and roasted.
