MacMillan Cancer Coffee morning
Every year since 1990 MacMillan Cancer Support has been staging one of Britain’s most successful and seemingly simple fundraising enterprises the famous MacMillan Coffee Morning. The idea is stunningly simple, buy a coffee and a cake and donate the money you would have spent on a treat for yourself to the charity. This year will see thousands of small, medium and large events across the country taking place on Friday 28th September.
Since 1990 £138 million has been raised. Here at UKVending we totally and wholeheartedly support the efforts of MacMillan Cancer Support as they support those unfortunate enough to have been given a diagnosis of cancer as well as supporting their families and loved ones through the trying and tiring process of dealing with the disease.
There is still time to get involved in this year’s event, which takes place on Friday 28th September. You can go to their website at https://coffee.macmillan.org.uk and get yourself a free Coffee Morning Kit so that you can organise an event of your own or alternatively go to their event locator and go along to an event being staged near you.
In Britain right at this moment 2.5 million people are living with cancer, in less than fifteen years time that number is expected to have risen to over 4 million people. This rise is due to the fact that new technologies and procedures are discovering cancers earlier and new treatments mean people are living longer once diagnosed.
MacMillan Cancer Support wants to be there to help each and every one of them and you can too simply by having a nice cup of coffee and a slice of delicious cake on Friday 28th September.
