Mad Hatter Day
Lewis Carol was an amazing writer. He could create incredible ideas and images in people’s minds and perhaps none more so that the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland. Who else could have created a party with a mouse that talks, a white rabbit in a waistcoat with a pocket watch, a blonde girl in a gingham dress and a mad hatter who had gone crazy through mercury poisoning?
Such was Lewis’ genius that his book, first published in 1865, still captivates people of all ages over 150 years later, so much so that today is Mad Hatter Day when we are all encouraged to enjoy our own Tea Party with friends, family and work colleagues.
You are also encouraged to wear silly hats to your workplace, do silly things and generally have a good time with lots and lots of cups of tea and nice cakes.
