Sales of Vending machines on the rise

At UKVending we always keep a close eye on how the market for our machines is going and it appears that the world is truly in love with the convenience and accessibility offered by vending machines. The greatest growth across the marketplace, however, is in the so called Smart technology machines.

American research company Grand View Research recently conducted a survey that concluded that the American market for such machines will reach a staggering $11.84 billion by 2025 in the United States alone. Where America leads usually the world follows so here in the United Kingdom we can reasonably expect to see a similar rise in the take up of smart vending machines. This research is backed up by similar surveys conducted by Berg Insight who expect the number of intelligent vending machines in the US to reach 3.6 million by 2020.

But this isn’t just an American issue Japan’s use of vending machines is growing exponentially each year. Last year it was established that there is one vending machine for every 23 people in Japan. These machines are being used to sell every conceivable product, everything from fish soup, tea and coffees right up to puppies!

Whilst some people bemoan the loss of traditional customer service jobs, vending machines do offer a number of bonuses. They can reduce waste and, if so desired, be programmed and loaded with healthier food choices than the traditional high calorie sweets and confectionery.
