Should you ever give coffee to Children?
It is an age-old question: Is coffee good for children? The consensus has been that it is not, but the question might not be correctly targeted. Perhaps the question should be more along the lines of does coffee stop kids from growing?
In this case, science does have an answer.
Popular, if somewhat out there, early 20th century marketing, would have you believe that coffee did stunt children’s growth, but thankfully scientists have completely debunked these assertions. Coffee does not adversely affect the growth and development of children, and some cultures around the world regularly give adolescent children a few cups of coffee of week.
Of course, one thing about coffee that is generally accepted is that it is not great to give children too much caffeine.
