The future is Pink!
Forget your old idea of what a taking a break was like…in the future when you take a break have a PINK Kit Kat.
Yes, after Nestle, the manufacturers of the world famous chocolate and wafer bar, tried out a new flavour of ‘ruby’ chocolate Kit Kat in Japan the success of the project has spurred them on to see the new tasty treat on British shores too. The Pink Kit Kat uses a new kind of, so called, ‘fourth type’ chocolate called ruby chocolate. Made from ruby coffee bean, it gives the new chocolate its characteristic reddish colour as well as its unique natural berry fruitiness and smoothness.
The Pink Kit Kat went on sale in Japan in January and proved to be extremely popular. When it reached stores here in the United Kingdom in mid April the price of the new treat took some getting used to. Each bar will have a 42 percent price premium with a small bar costing around 85 pence each, compared with 60 pence for a conventional milk, dark or white chocolate version.
Ruby chocolate was developed by the Swiss Company Barry Callebaut in conjunction with university academics.
