The health benefits of drinking five coffees a day

If you’re the sort of person who cannot face the day without first having a strong cup of coffee to fortify yourself then this blogpost will undoubtedly put a smile on your face. Coffee is widely known to have health giving properties, but did you know that the more you drink the health giving effects are directed towards certain conditions and you could possibly see improvements if you suffer from a range of medical concerns. Five cups of ground coffee a day is being investigated as a way to potentially prevent people developing Type 2 diabetes. A large scale Swedish study involving over a million people discovered that those who drank five cups of coffee a day had a 29 per cent lower risk of type 2 diabetes, compared with non-drinkers. It is thought that at least two compounds found in coffee, caffeic acid and chlorogenic acids may prevent the build up of protein, amyloid polypeptide that can collect in the pancreas and destroy cells that create insulin.
