Four cups of strong ground coffee may seem like quite a lot, but research has indicated that there are medical benefits too such as protecting against the fatty liver disease and providing the body with much needed nutrients and minerals.
The study conducted jointly in Southampton and Edinburgh discovered that people who drank up to four cups of ground coffee daily were 19 per cent less risk of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, where fat builds up in the liver. Currently it is estimated that one in three Britons have this condition but many of the cases go undiagnosed.
