UK Coffee Weeks starts here
UK Coffee Week is a nationwide fundraising initiative that supports coffee growing countries and their mission is to create a united platform where coffee operators, trade professionals and consumers can all come together in celebration of the coffee industry and raise funds in a fun and enjoyable way. Venues and coffee houses across London including national brands such as Starbucks, Caffe Nero, Benugo, BHS, Debenhams, Esquires Coffee Houses, Pure, Soho Coffee Company and Caffe Fratelli will be staging a wide range of special tasting sessions and other events designed to increase your awareness of the stunning variety of flavours and styles of coffee.
But there is more to this national celebration of the humble coffee bean. The organizers of UK Coffee Week aim to raise awareness and hard cash for the communities which grow the coffee around the world. Ships, coffee houses and venues taking part will each receive valuable high quality branded material to support the campaign and all money raised will directly support Project Waterfall, an initiative developed by the Allegra Foundation to deliver clean water and sanitation to the communities that grow the coffee bean plants. Since it was first established Project Waterfall has raised over £325,000 to help over 14,000 people in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
