UK Vending celebrates 50 years of service throughout April 2019
April 2019 is an important anniversary for UKVending as it marks our fiftieth year of serving our customers with outstanding vending machines and service. The machines and their contents may have changed considerably over the years and technology has been incorporated into everyday machines that in 1969 would have looked like it was straight from a science fiction movie, so we thought we’d look back throughout April to the events that coloured the news fifty years ago today.
27th April 1969
The President of Bolivia, General Rene Barrientos was killed on 27 April 1969 in a helicopter crash whilst making a tour of rural Bolivia. Barrientos had, up to this point, been an extremely lucky man having survived 21 aircraft accidents.
Paul McCartney goes on television and radio to deny claims that he has died.
Today is also the birthday of Strictly Coming Dancing host Tess Daly, happy birthday Tess.
