UK’s Cafe Culture
Did you know that by the end of 2020 there are likely to be more coffee shops in the United Kingdom than pubs? In the last five years there has been an explosion of café’s up and down the country with a 37 per cent rise. That’s an impressive rise of £1 billion to £3.4 billion from the figures set in 2016. It is not just coffee that is spiking as there is a corresponding 7.4 per cent increase in the sale of tea as well.
The so-called café culture in the UK can be explained by the fact that 34 per cent of people agree that café’s and coffee shops are the ideal place to relax, chill and catch up with friends a well as quenching their thirst.
