Want to multi task? Drink coffee

It’s delicious, quick to make and gives you a boost first thing in the morning and now following research a single cup of coffee even makes multi-tasking easier.

Researchers asked 35 people to press different buttons when they saw either the number one or the number two on a screen. They then gave them two or more buttons to press when they heard two different sounds playing at the same time.

Those who did the experiment without drinking a cup of coffee beforehand were around 0.68 seconds slower when pressing multiple buttons compared to when they were focusing on just one task. But those who were allowed a cup of instant black coffee were only 0.54 seconds slower.
