What do you call an Australian tea drinker?
Did you know that 38 percent of the Australian adult population drink tea. That number surges to 67 percent within the over 70’s who all drink on average two cups a day.
These figures may sound large, but just think that Australia ranks in at a lowly 55 in the world for tea consumption, but they are better than the United States who can only muster a measly 69. Australia’s neighbour New Zealand is slightly better at number 45.
Despite a slow down in tea consumption in recent years against coffee the United Kingdom still is in the top five holding the bottom slot, but Turkey is still the stand out leader in worldwide tea consumption taking in ten times what an average Australian does daily.
