Why you should smell your chocolate first before you eat it.
With a history reaching back over 2000 years, chocolate has been an important part of human history for longer than we can accurately record. Today millions of tons of the stuff are produced annually and here at UKVending we all have our favourite brands and like to treat ourselves once in a while. People 2000 years ago share the same basic need as their modern-day counterparts, we all love to eat chocolate. To give you some kind of scope of this consumption, 2.8 billion pounds of chocolate or $7 billion worth of the stuff was consumed in the United States of America last year alone, and that doesn’t include Europeans, who consume even more than our American cousins.
But, did you know, that you’re probably eating it all wrong?
Chocolate connoisseurs tell us that we shouldn’t simply consume it, we should inhale it first! They suggest that we should eat chocolate like we were sampling a fabulous vintage wine, ie, sniff it first before taking a bite. In so doing, you’re preparing your brain for the taste sensations to come.
